Are you looking for professional assistance with your painting? Are you working on a painting and can't figure out how to finish it or make it better? Join Doug Runyan as he gives individual teaching and helpful critique in a relaxed group setting to help you improve your work. Doug will share his knowledge of the important fundamentals of painting - composition, values, and color - and his knowledge of materials and techniques. This is not a "Wine and Canvas" type class. You provide your materials and ideas. Doug provides help to allow you to achieve your masterpiece. No class registration is necessary. Just show up with your ideas, supplies, and questions, and paint!
Understanding Colors, Balance & Values with Kathy Falls
Artists will learn the basics of color mixing using a color wheel and the importance of a limited palette. Reflective and transmitted colors will be discussed. The proper use of light will be discussed. Students will have a hands-on portion to the class.
Polymer Clay Miniatures with Nora Majors
Let's have fun with clay! Polymer Clay is clay that you cook in a small oven at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes or more. We will design a miniature clay scene and we will even have time to create shrinky dink keychains! Come have fun with us as we learn some easy clay techniques and practice using our creative thinking skills.
Block Printmaking with Jeanette Meridew
Students will design and then create a series of prints from a block that they create. We will discuss the printing process and how our lives are touched by printing today. We will also discuss the prints created by Japanese printmaker Hokusai and how he used lines to create movement and emotion.
Intro to Pastels with Judy Houk
Soft (chalk) pastel classes are the perfect way to relax, de-stress, and tap into your inner-artist. Learn endless art techniques in your soft (chalk) pastel painting lessons, including: self-expression through color, layering, blending, composition, personalized subject matter, texture, pastel color mixing, and more.
Pinch Pot Characters with Jeanette Meridew
Students will learn the clay preparation process and the history of Native American Indian potter, Maria Martinez. We will create pinch pot animals with assorted textures and patterns.
Papermaking with Leah Lanam
Students can learn the craft of papermaking for kids. They will learn the skills for papermaking with scraps of paper and items from nature. The finished products will be unique and ready for framing.
Fiber Needle Felting with Nora Majors
Needle felting is wool that has been stabbed together with a needle. We will have the opportunity to make either creatures or a landscape. Come have fun with us as we learn some new techniques and have fun "poking" around!
Kandisnky’s Tree – Crayon Resist with Anne Eyster
Kids will learn how to draw a tree using Wassily Kankisnky's Dot art. Kids will enjoy shading their trees with lively colors and pressing hard on their paper.

The primary emphasis of this workshop will include an introduction to gesture drawing, basic anatomy, contour line, tonal values, perspective, and an ongoing enhancement of observational and memory skills manifested through practiced handling of the artist’s medium.
The Principles of Composition and Design with Kathy Falls
This is a Lecture series class. A workbook that will explain correct composition and design will be provided. This class will incorporate old master's techniques. Participants should bring their artwork and visually see how their composition and design elements can work for them.
Fabric Weaving for High School Students with Anne Eyster
Weaving materials together dates back 12,000 years. You don't need a fancy loom to make a stunning wall hanging. This class will go over how to setup a cardboard loom, 3 weaving techniques, removal from the loom and how to embellish your wall hanging. This class is for the novice weaver.
Intro to Glass Fusing with Vicki Thompson
Fused glass has become very popular because of all the versatility, raw materials available, fewer tools needed (although a kiln is needed) and it is generally easier to do than stained glass. Basically, fused glass is the melting of glass together and shaped into many options.
